This aircraft has a large console of recording devices that takes up the area where the first row of passenger seats would be and the operators (two) set aft of the console facing forward. The only visibility out of the airplane for them is through the side windows. The aircraft can be equipped with a magnetometer, 60 cycle receiver, and other experimental data devices. The Turbo Porter is typically flown at altitudes between 1000 and 200 ft agl.  Picodas survey GPS for both lateral and vertical navigation are used. Since 2008 the PC-6 has the pods, booms and the operations console removed. The aircraft is currently equipped with Lidar.
